Energy is needed to power the Pokemon’s abilities. Once you have come up with about 20 Pokemon total, you are ready to move on to energy-just make sure you don’t have more than four of any one card! Pokemon Energy Cards If they want, you can have two different types of Pokemon in the deck, but for a new player, it’s best to limit it to one or two types and no more.
